Gvardeysk is a small town in the Kaliningrad Region. One can walk far and wide for an hour and a half. It is wonderful that so much old German architecture remained. For example, here the artist Lovis Corinth was born, and the small house where his family lived still stands. But there is a sense that the locals do not completely value all this architectural heritage.
Residents of the house I was painting were complaining that they have such an old and ugly house. But the local boys appreciated the resemblance of the painting with nature, and honored me with the title of the real artist.
